  • Deposit We all want to search . . . so help yourself and the rest of us and tell us what you know about biochemistry. You can deposit information on molecules, reactions, and names, either from your own work or from the literature. Once complete, all deposits are publicly identified by their depositor, so that you can cite this form of publication in the places that matter. All deposits are placed in the public domain so that everyone can have the information in perpetuity.

  • Review The more reviewers we have, the more easily we can assure the quality of the data you search. The participating curated databases welcome new experts! So please contribute your expertise and review deposits. All reviews are anonymous unless the reviewer authorizes publication of his or her authorship. The more you tell us about yourself, the better we can target our requests for your help.

  • Revision Since reviewers occasionally have suggestions about deposits, we've provided a way for the depositor to revise her or his deposit in response to the suggestions. Both depositors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout this process. We track the process so that deposits which have received significant suggestions cannot be released until a consensus has been reached or the curator decides.

  • Curation Would having information about particular molecules, reactions, or processes be useful to you and others in your field? For example, maybe you really want to compare regulatory mechanisms in higher plants, but you don't have a good way of putting the information you gather from the literature in a database. Or maybe you've found some problems in the uncurated data we receive that you'd like to straighten out. The Agora is designed to let you build, maintain, and provide interoperable services for your own database transparently, without you needing to hire your own database guru. It's your database --- we're just here to help with the machinery.

  • We seek the assistance of the world's biologists in developing public domain databases of biochemical, physiological, and molecular information.
After review, information entered using The Agora will be deposited to its participating databases and made available for anonymous queries.
  • Please read The Agora's policies on privacy, attribution, and data release if you are curious or have any concerns.
